Hello, my name is Carla Klosowski.

I am a professionally trained photographer and artist.

I have been an artist since I was at least 4 years old. I was
bitten by the creative bug when my father would let me
watch him work in his photo darkroom and I watched the
magic of the images appearing on the paper in the liquid.

I believe that there is magic in this world if you know where
to look...it's that magic that lets me create my art.

I was born in California. I've moved around a lot.

Now-I live just outside beautiful Pensacola, Florida; home
of the famous and very talented Navy flying team, the Blue
Angels!

(Whatever your political affiliation please support and
remember our troops while they are away!)

One of the people that has been a great influence on me
is/was one of my best friends, Phyllis Adams. One of the last
things that she said before she passed away was that I was
"too artsy-fartsy to work at mundane jobs". She stated that I
needed to get into a gallery and get my work out there
somehow.  She was never one to mince her words!

I finally decided that I was tired of working at everything
BUT my art, so now I am working solely on my art and I
currently received my Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with a
minor in Education. My goal is to be able to teach children
the skills of art.

I believe when children encounter teachers that are close-
minded as to how things are supposed to work and one
seems to actually mock a child, this just sets the stage for
the demolition of an active and wonderful imagination.

I think if you are a teacher of small children you should
make sure that you leave your jaded view of the world
outside the creative area of your teaching.

I remember, when I was a child going to Kindergarten and I
saw the crayons and reams of white paper, and I remember
these things being the most fascinating things I had ever
laid my eyes upon. I could hardly wait to use them!

I remember, even then, being different than the other kids.
I saw the world through some other portal I suppose!

When the teacher passed out Pilgrim pictures for us to color
for Thanksgiving, I reached for a lovely jewel colored purple
crayon, while the others automatically reached for the black
crayons.

I began carefully coloring with that stunning color and the
teacher came along and literally gasped out loud as though I
had committed some felony in the art world.

She glowered down at me and stated emphatically, (as the
other children looked on and giggled) that Pilgrims did not
wear purple!
To which I calmly replied, “Mine do.” and I continued to
color, much to her chagrin!

That was the day the artist in me was born. It's a good thing
that I've always been independent and strong willed!

I have always been unconventional in my approach to my
art and photography and I believe the imagination is the key
to other worlds and lets us believe in things that are not
always visible.

It is a wonderful thing to see and live life outside the box!
This actually helped me in my classes in college, as it was
required to get the grades to pass!

Truly the one connection that keeps my imagination
flourishing, even in this hectic and turbulent world, is to
keep my inner child alive and well.
It's nice to be able to escape the reality of this sphere and
visit the fantasy realm!

I am working on children's books, writing and illustrating
them as well.

I hope you enjoy my work!

Feel free to email me with comments and I will try to answer
your questions!

Thanks so much for coming to visit my site!
